There is no real overnight guy at XL. It's going to be voice tracked By Eddie Payne who will also be board-opping the Dee Snider show in the mornings. But you can bet he will only be paid for one job instead of two. Oh who are we kidding? He will not even get paid enough to justify one job. But hey, If he's dumb enough to take it. More power to him.

Harve Allen is probably the reason Dee snider is even on in Richmond. Mr. Allen lives in Connecticut and for whatever reason thinks Dee makes sense in Richmond. He is so wrong. This is the worst show I have ever heard. Jeff Mckee could never be replaced. This just proves it. Lassman is only a figurehead. He does not make any decisions. I think it is funny that he even considers himself a programmer. He isn't even in the same league as the great people before him.

Lassman is a puppet . . . he can't do anything without talking to his "VP of Programming" or Bill Cahill or even Woody (no, not the Woody that used to be on Jeff & Jeff). He'll lie and point fingers at anyone and he blames change on Jim Richards or Harve Allen. Think they care? Hell no! Neither does Lassman. They give him titles like Brand Manager and he thinks he is getting promoted.

Hey this is a response to anonymous! I took the job offering because radio is new to me.I have only been in it for nearly a year and yes the transition is going to be tough, but it goes with the territory. You have to be openminded in radio and for me being new, this is a chance for me to be heard and recognized and also progress in something I have always dreamed of "being on the air" but who really cares who is getting paid how much? If I were a rich millionare (which I'm not), then I would do it for free but right now for my expenses, it ain't bad so whoever you are, You can never be to dumb to take an oppurtunity like that regardless of pay, and by the way, I have support from family and friends as well as EX-Basie Rd employees so thats where I stand.
hes a good kid so leave him alone

You tell 'em Eddie. Don't let the cynics get you down. Everybody's entitled to get their shot and it's your great attitude and professionalism that make some of us who have worked with you proud to know that even though you may work for scumbags, you're a great kid who deserves to live your life as you see fit. By the way, if you were a " rich " millionaire? Dude, I'd be happy to be a " poor " millionaire. Hang in there Eddie

Thanks to whoever that was that responded to me. Thanks for the support. Doing mornings is going to be tough but I know I can handle it! And Voice tracking, well I'm getting tighter and more complete day by day.I will do whatever I can to improve my abilities to the fullest. I'm not sure who you may be but I have a feeling our paths have crossed several times and I am proud to be part of the team at Basie Rd. despite all of the rumors and/or posts on shloc boards such as this....XL 102 WILL continue to ROCK!!!! Thanks Again!!

See? Eddie's over it.
Still anonymous
Posted on Wednesday, October 03, 2001 - 3:12 pm:

Point not well taken.

I was the one who wrote the encouraging words supporting Eddie.

I'm also deeply upset by the recent events at Basie Road and on a much larger and more serious scale, in the world.

Being supportive of Eddie's positive attitude doesn't make me someone who's " over it. "

People die, their mates adjust.

People lose their children, somehow life goes on.

It doesn't mean you're over it, it means in order to function as best as one can, one has to accept " what is " and continue in that world without denial.

Eddie is simply another eager beaver in the food chain.

Maybe he'll grow up to be the next McKee or Timberlake or maybe he'll be chewed up and spit out by the machine before he gets his chance to shine.

Saying " Eddie's over it " misses the point completely.

He's part of the the process - he's not over it, he's " in it."

The other thing that both the Basie Road and world events scenarios show us is that none of us can control what's going to happen.

None of us are bigger than the crazy world and the way it arbitrarily does this and then that.

Big buildings crumble, good broadcasters with great track records and loads of talent are shot down by mindless corporate snipers, and yes, life goes on without any of us having any control over any of it.

What we do have control of is our sense of values and dignity. Accepting wrongful behavior as part of the way the world works with a shrug and a sigh is overlooking the most important big picture of recognizing things for what they are and being able to put them into proper perspective and then act accordingly.

So, for me I'll never " get over " the wrongs I see and I will never forget who are the good guys and who are the bad guys and one day.... one day when I'm in the position to make a difference, I'll summon up those values and do what feels right to me. Now please let me get back to work, my supervisor ( one of the bad guys ) is giving me the evil eye.

No prob, stupe. If you want to check out my html work go to the Lucas Foxx Page. It's all done on a notepad (don't have the money for an html program). You need to refresh it after it loads to get the full effect, because the background image is so big. And it only works on an IE 5 browser. I'd update it more often if the station would link to it. But there are some good radio, music, and news links.

Jeff McKee...now you can go do radio the way YOU WANT TO DO IT! The powers-that-be dictated the direction J&J had to take the morning show. Too many don't seem to realize the coarse direction was not your doing. Having worked with you for many years, I knew it was not the kind of radio you wished to do. One must do what is necessary to take care of one's family and you carried on with what you had to do. In spite of it all, I must say, "well done."

I wish nothing but good things for you and your family. XL's loss will be another station's gain, and may they have the insight to let you do what you do best.

Just wanted to say, after months of reading this board, (for entertainment purposes of course.) Just had to add to what Lucas and some other people have said about Eddie Payne. Eddie, I'm so happy for you, I wish you only the best. I would be where you are now....but I have a morgage payment, college loans,etc... to think about now....Making under 10G/yr. won't work anymore!! 3 yrs. of that was enough for me!! Be careful though, YOU KNOW HOW THINGS GO AROUND HERE! I also want to thank everyone who took the time to give me much needed advice and support!! You guys are my mentors, I never will forget what you all have done for me! Thank you: Brian Illis, Rik Maybee,Jay Smack,Jeff&Jeff,Johnny Young, Lucas Foxx (rock on bro!!), Tara Huner, BT and Bill Cahill for taking time to talk to me. Peace out!!
shhh- nancys still talking on the phone
Posted on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 9:43 pm:

The phone calls keep coming into Basie and the suits are afraid to leave the building.

Calls complaining of the firing are answered by poor Nancy and not returned. We're not talking a mild hundred or two hundred, we're talking mind boggling numbers. These fools who demonstrated a total lack of understanding their audience are also demonstrating how totally gutless they are by not taking accountability for their actions.
If you fire and guy and think it's the right thing to do, have the nads to own up to it, " Yeah - we fired him and we'd do it again... " Instead, no returned calls to the press, no calls returned to upset listeners, just cowards hiding in their bunker, hoping it'll all go away. I've spoken to Nancy's relief people who've taken some of the calls. Listeners are in total disbelief. " why would they do this? " " what the h*ll were they thinking? "

They say that it seems beyond comprehension to some of the poor folks who've called that Clear Channel would take away their guy.

It's sad, but I have to laugh, what a tremendous miscalculation from the sorriest group of bozos on Earth.

These guys are paid to know what listeners want and this is the ultimate proof that they are so completely clueless that there will eventually be hell to pay.

To not know the value of your own programming - stupid stupid stupid. Imagine what might have happened if they actually supported it.

Nice going Assman, nice going Harve, nice going Clear Channel, you couldn't have done anything to more expose just how stupid and inept you are than to do what you've done over the past few weeks.

It's only going to get worse. People here in the building were talking about McKee's 9-11 coverage.

I'll bet he was taking listeners from RVA Golden Boy Jimmy.

Wait till the next wave of bad news hits.

Wait till they see how inappropriate Dee Snider will sound then.

Welcome to Basie Road, home of Clear Channel Communications, where you'll find dumb gutless cowards hiding under their desks afraid of a listener revolt.

I just don't understand why so many of you seem so surprised that McKee got canned. I'll bet he wasn't. Given the financial condition of radio in general and Clear Channel in particular, if you're a morning guy in market #57 or #58 and make 100K or more, you're probably gonna get fired! Don't you get it? By the way, this is the first time I've visited here in many months. The potential for a very cool "radio community destination" has clearly been shot to hell. You people are pathetic. Even so, I'll probably check back from time to time simply out of morbid curiosity. I can't help it. I'm a radio guy.

Hey Lucy, Mckee did not suck! He was doing what he was told. There is a format to stick to you know. Everyone at Basie is just doing a job and one day there time will come. Some sooner than others, but,you have to realize that if they really sucked that bad , he would have been let go along time ago. Anyway I enjoyed Mckee... He had more talent than most there at Basie.
been there, had enough, got out before the fan got dirty
Posted on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 11:40 pm:

radiodog, take it from me, this is a 100 % guarantee, Jeff Mckee DID NOT make anywhere near 100K.

repeat and know it as fact, he abosolutely, positively did not make anywhere near 100 thousand dollars.

don't forget he was part of a team. i know of what i speak. i was once part of the management team there.

he was a bargain. that makes what those idiots did even more pathetic. the difference between what he pulled in and what they'll save is peanuts. peanuts. it was a moronic miscalculation of value compounded by worth. hey clear channel, next time eliminate a programmer and let the guy who knows how to do his job keep it.

sorry radiodog, you're probably a good guy, but if people are going to debate, opinions aside, at least get the facts straight.

god, am i glad i got out of radio.

I guess anybody can say anything they want on a board where people don't use their names, but I have no hidden agenda, it's not speculation, it's not opinion, I've seen the contracts, I work on the budgets, Mr McKee has ever made 100K. On the lives of the people I hold most dear in my life, it's a fact, the man never made anywhere near that kind of money. I don't know if he ever visits the board or whether he thinks it's any of our business, but I'll bet Mr Beck can confirm it, those guys never approached that kind of cash. Hey, I'm just a working girl, I'm for everybody getting their fair share, I wish to hell they did, it just never happened. Believe me, before he was terminated the details of his contract were a big deal. Compared to others in the building, the guy was underpaid. Ever see the car he drove? Not the Benz or Jag or costly fancy man wagon some of the others used for wheels. McKee, Beck, I'm defending you guys here, back me up. The overall point is this: if indeed it was money that got Jeff sacked, it wasn' a lot of money and that makes the whole thing even more stupid.

My sister came into town yesterday and said, "Hey, Sock - what happened to the radio up here? All of the stations I listened to sucked and the dj's were horrible! I heard big gaps (dead air for those in the know) between songs and well, the dj's didn't sound like radio dj's. They had accents that made them sound like hicks and they were shouting! It was awful. What happened?!"
I didn't know what to tell her. What do I say? Have the standards dropped so low, or am I/we just getting too old to understand that shouting dj's with hick accents or just (please forgive me), what sound like speach impediments are normal?
Give me some guidance here. I've cruised this board for some time. This is the first time I have felt to compelled to ask something...

Posted on Saturday, October 06, 2001 - 10:55 am:

actually danforth, mr mckee helped me get a job in radio. i sent my resume and made calls to every station on basie and only after leaving a voice mail message at his number did i get any response. he got me in the door. he met me at the station and introduced me to people in promotions and here i am. he had nothing to gain from that, it was just plain being nice. if you really think the things you say, then you're in league with the devils and a fool as well. he's forgotten more than you and i will ever know. i'm not an xl listener, but the way he worked each and every person who came into the diner or approached us at a promotion taught me volumes about dealing with the public. and as long as you're praising eddie ( which I will do too, he's a bud and we still work together ) why don't you ask him about jeff, i guarantee he'll say the same thing. it's either the alcohol or jealousy doing the talking. if not, then you're just plain stupid. if that's the case, go straight into management, because they're the a**holes and they're the ones who's inability to recognize talent is their biggest weakness. sorry, but if this board is used to put down the bad guys and support the good guys, you're one screwed up pooch.

Grunting...you are sounding more and more like Mr. I am Wonderful McKee himself...I have read your post above at least FOUR OTHER TIMES on this and other boards. Too much praise for Mr. McKee sounds like Mr. McKee is tooting his own horn a little too much. Personally I knew him. Never worked in the same room with him, but believe me, everyone who worked in the building with him thought he was an arrogant little prick who thought he invented radio. Mr. One Up. Mr. I am better than everyone. Nothing about that man was nice. Except these posts that he writes about himself.

i wrote my posts and i know several people who hava a similar story to tell. we'd all love to meet you back by the basketball court after work one day. personally i think you're one of those a**hole suits who has their own agenda and part of it is undermining the integrity of this board by slipping in nasty comments to support your side of things. so again, if you're man enough to back up what you say, let me know how to get in touch and believe me, pal, i will. then you'll know exactly who i am and people will know who you are too. btw, i am not suggesting physical violence here, however, should the need arise to defend myself, i'd have to do whatever i had to do. so go for it, give me an email address and let's meet face to face.

Go ahead, do a walk-through of the building now, take a poll....ask about whom McKee ever said anything nice about, ask them if they ever heard anyone (outside of you McKee, if you can still get IN the building) say anything nice about him (or you, still think you are one and the same.

I just want to say one more time what a great human bean Jeff McKee is. He really did invent radio, thought up every funny bit ever heard and squashed the one's that he thought were not funny (and dang if he wasn't right). Jeff even fought management to stop putting trashy naked girls in the studio. He stuck his neck out and said one time that the drug imaging just wasn't cool and that he was sick of seeing local girls expose their pubes for tickets to concerts. He also treated evryone like they were the best thing around. He was never arrogant or a jerk. Man, what a talent. I wish you could know him like I did. I will miss him at Basie Road. I know all of his other co-workers will too.

Katie PW is gone, so how about you promotions people, who will be left standing when or if the promotions firing axe will fall. I can only wonder if they'll at least keep a few of you around, it slows down in winter you know. And promo people aren't exactly the swiftest group of people around, minimum wage must suck, get into sales while you still can, and maybe you can make some real money and not pretend like you are in radio.

Posted on Sunday, October 07, 2001 - 10:41 am:

WOW was Katie fired? And who's the joker who said "get into sales while you still can, and maybe you can make some real money and not pretend like you are in radio."? PLEEEEAAASE!!! More people move from promotions to on-air than from sales. You know where sales people go? (well besides hell) They go to other companies to sell new products. In fact, personally I don't know any on air people that were once sales people. I mean I'm sure there are some who used to be in sales. But I can't think of any. So lay off the promotions people.
Evan
Posted on Sunday, October 07, 2001 - 11:25 am:

Wow, great post luck, you really hate promotions people. I don't pretend to be in radio, I have been in programming for 7 plus years now, I went into promotions last September or so because I wanted to try another aspect of this business, I still do On-Air work for XL, not as much as I used to because I work sooo many hours in promotions, (I'm the guy that hardly ever sleeps) but the 5 or 10 hours, board-opping and the occasional voice-tracked air-shift still keep me satisfied, I would like to do more on-air like I used to, I started as an on-air part-timer, then did morning show "stunt" stuff with Dickboy and Branch, (hey B, email me) I helped train some people here, Eddie, Casey and a few of the promotions staff. I don't mean to blow my own horn, but I am writing this to show you "Luck" that we all play different roles here, and people start in this business in different areas. I sincerely love promotions, and there are alot of "swift" promo people here, they know who they are and give their all. Being in promotions has been the best experience for me. What other job lets you go see concerts for free, go to clubs and get paid for it, get really cool free stuff, walk into concert or public venues like you own the place and meet celebrities and all sorts of interesting people? Promotions does. I plan on going to a record label at some point in the promotional field, and promotions has taught me all I need to know when I decide to move on, for now I will stay here, because I really love my job. I have had alot of fun since my first day here, Jay Smack and Brian Illes were VERY instrumental in getting me here, (April 2000) and it may slow down in winter, but not by much, as long as our sales staff keeps selling, I will still be out there. So "Luck" I may make minimum wage, but it's called paying your dues. It only gets better.

Is that going to get someone to fill out a diary?..What about you Evan.....when was the last promotion you came up with. When was the last time any of you morons put togther stuff that made people talk...Thor knows the answer...not ever in your career. Why not try to do something new and different, why not do things that will help you build your resume and get a real gig paying real money...Thor cries over the lack of imagination. Thor laughs at the small time thinking....Thor is amused at today's promotions departments...Thor dares anyone to post five good ideas on this site...Thor doubts it will happen...Thor is sad...Thor has spoken, thor is brave, Thor is wise, Thor is going to do a porta john jump

1.) Use Thor as a pinata. First person to knock all the S**t out of Thor wins a car.

2.) Human Bounty Hunt. Bring Thor's head in for 1,000 dollars

3.) Bury Thor Alive Contest. Bury Thor under a pile of donkey crap in 30 sec. and win a trip to the Bahamas.

4.) Hit The target with Thor. Drop Thor from the top of the Bank of America building. First person to make Thor land in a glass of water wins his rent or mortgage paid for 1 full year.

5.) Chase Thor at RIR. One for the kids. Children chase Thor around the track at RIR with go-carts. The first one to run Thor down wins a Playstation 2.

There you go five great promotional ideas

Thor, your cynical views are tired and old. Evan is a very hard worker who does his best all the time. Give the guy a break, he was responding to the venomous post about promotions people. Do you actually know him and what he does here? I bet you don't.

Hey Basie Rd promotions guy....pretty fun, but they've all been done. I think what Thor was asking was for a NEW, ORIGINAL, CREATIVE idea that gets the market talking about the radio station...which gets non-listeners interested, and tuning in. I think THAT's what Thor was talking about. Q's done human pinata...Q's done "Hide skip, find him, get the prize", Q's done "bury David Lee" in a glass coffin, Q's done "hit the target" on secretary's day with computers dropped from a crane, and Q's done "chase the gorilla" at both the fairgrounds and at southside speedway. Ever had an idea ALL YOUR OWN Basie Rd. promotions guy?

Yeah. I know all about everything Q has done. Who do you think came up with those ideas in the first place. Do you honestly think it was a sales person? You are sadly mistaken. And on a side note, In all the promo/programming planning meetings that I had to sit through for XL (this was before the reign of Lassman the idiot of corse)Most of the ideas for promotional events came from the one and only Jeff Mckee. Yep it's true. Leave the creative process to those who are creative and just go sell your add time. You jack off.

Thor is very amused at Basie Rd Promo guy. Maybe for your next big, never before done promotion you can giveaway a free t-shirt with a great big logo on it so no one will wear it except for some idiot radio promotions guy. How about taking caller number 10 for some free VCU tickets, wow, Thor is impressed. Thor has spoken, Thor is wise, Thor is brave, Thor is bored and just clipping her toenails.

Oh please Basie promotions dude. YOU Came up with all the Q promotions? Now I KNOW you're Mckee...he always took credit for every single thing Q ever did..."oh, I did that 26 years ago, in Duluth". You weren't even born when some of the promotions were done on Q, so don't feed me the line that you came up with them. You know what you do in promotions meetings? Daydream about ***. Go Away!!!!!

All I'm saying is that I know who came up with all of those supposed great promotions that Q and XL have done. And I guarantee it wasn't a sales person. It was a combination of the air staff and the promotions people. Sales people like THOR need to recognize who the creative people are and if Thor doesn't like what we come up with, then maybe THOR should come up with 5 original ideas. Go ahead Thor. Put your ideas out on the table. Let's hear them. And as for Anonymous, Mckee never did care one bit about what Q did for promotions. He was too concerned about what he had to do for his own show. He had to appeal to a much different crowd than Q. The only thing that concerned him is that CC was more than willing to support Q in anything they did, but never willing to support XL. Is it any wonder why they are sinking? No I didn't come up with all the ideas for the promotions. But I know who did. These people do their josb and do it well. And nobody in the sales department needs to complain about us. So think outside the box for a moment and let's see what you can come up with.

"THERE" "BOB SIEGERS" "THINK GOD FOR..." "CHILLIE" Yes, very eloquent, Jerry. Is it any wonder rock diaries don't get filled out!?!?

XL has always been about playing fresh rock and roll. "BOB SIEGERS" was fresh 20 years ago. Bob Seger has been played continually on WRXL since 1975. I'm sorry we have to lose you to old age, Jer. If you ever come back to the here and now, I'll treat you to the new Rob Zombie CD and a jar of Blacksburgs' finest moonshine.

Hey Lucas. Your a nice guy and I think your show is great, but who are you kidding? Y101 is the best place for new rock in Richmond. When you guys loose the Led Zep, Allman brothers, ZZtop and all that, then maybe I'll listen. Y101 has been playing that new Rob Zombie for a good long while now. No dis-respect at all man, but XL will never be able to drop all the moldy oldies.

And for the record...Q's promotions were always fresher, more creative, and fun than a very narrow approach of having girls in bikini's expose themselves in a kids pool for god knows what lame prize (or what ever awful "rock n roll, dude!" promotion they dangled in the wind at xl). And don't blame the current management, it's always been like that.

April P
Posted on Tuesday, October 09, 2001 - 10:54 pm:

No, it wasn't always like that. Unique, creative, G rated all inclusive promotions that were the standard of the industry once came from the morning show at XL 102.

Their Song for Richmond contest invited listeners to send in a song about this town.

I remember being blown away by the quality of songs.

They picked a top 10 from the few hundred entries and the singers or bands played at the Floodzone. I believe they did that at least one more time.

I helped put together the very first Field of Dreams at the Diamond. Hundreds of people, men, women, kids would show up at the Diamond early in the morning to take some whacks from home plate or play in the field. That promotion lasted more than a decade.

How about Screaming Baby Night? Jeff proposed that the first year we worked together at XL.

10 years later he called me to say it finally happened. What a great idea! Couples with kids went to a fine restaurant where the parents ate and chilled and the Jeff entertained.

Their Survivor promotions were perfect examples of local radio piggy backing with local TV.

It made for great radio and great promotion.
We used their blueprint for their first promotion here in Atlanta for the second one.

What about their Superbowling parties? I know they did several of those?

I remember the Toss Your Boss promotion where they had a secretary heave her employer out of a plane.

The guy was attached to a ski diving pro and he was miked the whole way done.

The years were filled with endless wonderful promotions that programming and sales benefitted from and none of them involved girls in their underwear.

I know, I was the promotions director for many of them.

Some of you guys have memories as short as your you know whats.

Take my word for it, all of you are only as good and only as safe as the management who greenlights your projects and if all they can do is copy what someone else is doing somewhere else, there will be no growth in good old Richmond VA.

I've lived in Atlanta for the last 8 years, and the good news is that there's still creative dynamic radio people pulling rabbits out of their hats.

I'm just writing this to remind people that there was a time when there was magic in Richmond too.

If something stinks, it usually comes from the head down and history is history, what happened really happened. Follow the story from the start and you'll see the end of when radio was an art and a business and when it became just a business.

Buck, thanks for filling me in on the recent events. April P.

You guys dont seem to understand. just because XL has changed there programming around a little doesnt mean they suck. IS THE BRADY BUNCH STILL COMING OUT WITH FRESH SHOWS THIS SEASON????? NO!!!!!!!! SEE just like TV, radio goes through changes too!!! SO stop whining about XL102 sucking because cbs, abc, and nbc do not suck do they? NO they have good shows and bad shows. I cant believe you *** idiots don't understand that It's too easy for me to understand. XL 102 will remain locked on my dial. Hey Lucas! YOU STILL ROCK!!!!!!!!

First of all, profanity aside, let's examine your sentence: " I cant believe you ******* idiots don't understand that It's too easy for me to understand "

How can anyone understand your point when you words don't even make sense? And the point is quality. It has nothing to do with when, it has to do with what. There's quality at WRXL? Name it, I'm waiting. Give me something with an identity that a mass can sink their teeth into. Give me a cool promotion or contest that hasn't been generated from a corporate level. You work at WRXL? Great, here's your chance to rise above the pond scum and make something of yourself. But you haven't done it yet.

Your argument about CBS, ABC and NBC not sucking is laughable. Sure, CBS has 60 minutes. What's XL's version of 60 MINUTES?

Sure NBC has FRIENDS. What's XL's version of FRIENDS? You guys have a long, long way to go.

Creative excellence is generated from within one's self and can never be manufactured artificially.

You guys are working under a system that does not and will not allow anyone to rise and shine.

I don't want to discourage anyone from going out there and trying as hard as they can to make it, but the odds are overwhelming that you're not going to make it under the current Clear Channel regime in Richmond.

Get some experience under your belt and get the heck out of town. Or perhaps you could try working at Cox

I think many of us are missing the point.
Whether you like Jeff or not, he's another local jock left behind for syndication.
We can all fuss that one jock or another sucks/is great, but one day they'll all be gone and we'll wonder where the good old days went.
So, whether the remaining jocks are your favorite or no, try sticking up for them.

I'm sorry to hear that Jeff got cut. He didn't deserve it, and neither did Richmond.
There, but for the grace of god.....

Nobody gives a crap about Thor. Your full of hot air and you have nothing worth saying, You epitomize the mentality of the corporate ••• holes that are destroying this business.I used to get a chuckle out of your postings. Now I wonder if you are Osama Bin Lassman. But I know that's not true because that fat fart would never post his ratings where everyone could see them. He's too chicken to do that. Wait, I don't even care who you are because you are not worth my time. It's people like you that make working in radio hell! You enjoy kissing corporate butt don't you? You enjoy it so much, you throw your tongue into it. Your an ••• licker! You try to pick on the little guys in the biz like the promo people and the part timers. You know, the people that make everything happen! It's time you recognized who the real radio people are. I don't know what your job in radio is, nor do I care because it's obvious to me that you don't know the first thing about real radio. The only thing you know is what the corporate brainwashers have told you. It's a shame really, that you've been in this business as long as you claim and you don't have a clue how to pull your head out of your own •••. Your pathetic. Your just like the terrorist. You hide in the shadows and come out to taunt the hard working and honest people and try to bring them down. But you only do it when you think it's safe. You hide behind an assumed name and pretend you're something your not. You coward. You think your way is law and you challenge anyone who doesn't agree with you because you know you are WRONG!! Just like Osama. You Thor, are trash. And you better hope that I never find out who you are. Now come on. I'm ready. Tell me I need to go work at Wawa or my library card needs to be revoked or that I make minimum wage or that your stations ratings are higher than mine. All the little coward stuff that you love to say. My big brother is bigger than your big brother.

To all the people Thor has ever tried to insult. Lucas, Basie Rd promo guy the part timers....You guys just keep pluggin' away. You are the TRUE radio people. You are the ones that make this business. And I take my hat off to you.

As for Thor and people like Thor...The corporate ax swings in all directions. Once the little guys are gone, they'll be coming for you. But your probably safe. They can't chop your head off because it's to far up your •••. And you better hope that they ax you before I find out who you are.

Interesting article if you really read it and see that Mr Cahill said either NOTHING, never directly giving a direct response to specific questions.

It's not worth the time to disect each Q & A other than to say that Cahill did more dancing that Michael Flatley and when he did respond he often contradicted himself.

He should have simply said " our business has chosen to all but eliminate people expenses, put on cheap product and take our chances with our slice of the pie. We did it here, we do it everywhere. "

Lies, smoke, mirrors and b.s.
